Lynda Sandoval is a former police officer-turned
fiction writer with fourteen book sales to her
credit. She lives in Denver with the world's
coolest Cairn Terrier, Smidgey (who is immortal--
he might even be a wizard!).

Lynda writes women's fiction for HarperCollins
Rayo; romance for Silhouette Special Edition;
romantic suspense for Silhouette Intimate
Moments; and young adult novels for Simon &
Schuster. She has also written for award-winning
books for Kensington Bouquet and Pinnacle
Encanto, and her popular nonfiction text
published by Gryphon Books for Writers,
True
Blue: An Insider's Guide to Street Cops--For
Writers
, is still selling strong. In her spare time
(HA!), she works as an emergency medical
dispatcher for the fire department.

Lynda's books have won awards such as the
2000 Rising Star, the 2002 Golden Quill, and the
2002 Beacon—all sponsored by regional
chapters of Romance Writers of America. She
was also a finalist in the 2002 Booksellers Best,
and a two-time Romance Writers of America
Golden Heart finalist prior to selling. In October
2000, Lynda was profiled in People en Español,
the Spanish language version of People
The world of law enforcement is a subculture unto itself, with different codes of
conduct, jargon, body language, and social mores.  In True Blue, Lynda Sue Cooper
answers the question, "What's It Like?" for those of you who are dedicated enough
to the craft of fiction writing to want to get it right.  Though outsiders are not
usually embraced amongst the blue brotherhood, True Blue jimmies the door a bit so
you may gain entrance into this closed society, step over that line, and get a feel for
what it's like:
- Being a cop
-Working the streets, responding to calls, investigating crimes
-Going through the academy and field training
-Wearing a badge, handcuffing someone, losing a case, helping a child
-When you-know-what hits the fan out there

Magazine, and in August 2002, The Sunday Denver Post book section ran a
profile of Lynda which led directly to her first sale with HarperCollins Rayo.
(Thanks, DP!) In 2004, Lynda was featured in both Writer’s Digest magazine and
Romantic Times BOOKCLUB.

When Lynda is procrastinating, she loves to quilt, hike, garden, make jewelry, bid
obsessively on eBay, and read everything she can get her hands on.
